Afternoon =Arvo、hello=G’Day、McDonald’s=Macca’s、swimsuits= togs or boardies

It’s important to note that when travelling around the world, English idioms and expressions, as well as slang sayings and vocabulary, can change and vary from country to country – For example, “Afternoon" in Australia is said as “Arvo" and hello is said as “G’Day". And in Australia and a lot of European countries, it’s not called a Gas station – It’s a Petrol Station….in Australia we have shortened this to the word “Servo" and “McDonald’s" is said as “Macca’s" and if you are going for a swim, swimsuits are called “togs or boardies"….. so it’s always wise to check what the local (or parochialism) language is when travelling abroad
