Call off 取消、廢止
- They just called off the meeting for tomorrow. 他們剛剛取消了明天的會議。
除此之外，還有以下三個常見用法。
- I have canceled the appointment at the clinic. 我取消了我在診所的預約。
- The proposal has been repealed after the voting. 這個提案在表決過後被廢止了。
- Our flight was scrapped because of the bad weather. 我們的飛機因為糟糕的天氣而停飛。
call off 和 scrap都適用於本來預期要發生，但遇到狀況被迫停止的事件。
